In the course of the sitting, the Committee members declared that the Bill (Reg.№5164) envisages the prohibition on any advertising of the tobacco goods and also advertising of trade marks, services and other intellectual property objects that are use in the course of tobacco goods production.
Moreover it envisages prohibition of television, radio, theatre-concert and sport programs sponsorship with the use of trade marks, services and other intellectual property objects that are use in the course of tobacco goods production.
It also should be implemented that advertising of any goods or services is not suppose to contain tobacco goods picture or the smoking procedure.
The People´s Deputies also scrutinized the Bill (Reg.№1014-1) "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" (re the prohibition on tobacco goods and alcoholic beverage advertising).
In the course of the discussion, the People´s Deputies stated that both bills deserve being upheld, still, according to them, the bill 5164 is more acceptable.
The Committee deems the principles of the bill 1014-1 regarding the restriction of alcoholic beverage advertising are supposed to be taken into the consideration while elaborating the alternative bill on amendments to the Law "On Advertising" (Reg.№1014-2) that is directed for the Verkhovna Rada scrutiny.
